Structural design of solar carports
At TRIAXION we design the structure of your solar carport under the Spanish Building Code (Código Técnico de la Edificación). Every project includes the design of the steel profiles (IPE), the purlins, the foundations and the anchors, checked against the actual wind and snow loads of the site (CTE DB-SE-AE). The result is a technical report signed by a licensed Spanish civil engineer (ITOP), ready to price the works with confidence.
We can assist you in English. The technical documentation is issued in Spanish, as required by Spanish local authorities for permits.
We deal exclusively with structural engineering. We do not supply solar panels or carry out the electrical installation; that part is done by an authorised installer.

Tell us about your project
Location, number of parking spaces and type of carport. If you have a geotechnical report, attach it in the form.

Tailored to your site, the ground and whether you need the engineers' association endorsement (visado). No obligation.
We design and sign
Superstructure, foundations and anchors checked under the Spanish Building Code, in a report signed by a licensed engineer.
Designed to the Spanish Building Code
We check the structure under CTE DB-SE-AE (wind and snow actions by zone and altitude), with the actual load combinations of Spanish regulations — no rules of thumb or fixed kilos per parking space.
All of Spain
We provide structural design of solar carports and solar canopies in every province of Spain, based in Valencia — including the Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol, the Balearic and Canary Islands. As a document-based engineering service, we work on projects anywhere in the country.
Common questions
What does the structural design of a solar carport include?
It includes the sizing of the steel profiles (columns and purlins), the foundations and the anchors, checked against wind and snow loads under the Spanish Building Code (CTE DB-SE-AE), in a report signed by a licensed Spanish engineer (ITOP). Solar panels and the electrical installation are not included.
Do you also do the electrical installation and certificate?
No. TRIAXION only handles the structure. The PV connection and the low-voltage electrical certificate (boletín) are done by an authorised electrical installer.
Which steel profile does a two-car carport need?
It depends on the location (wind and snow) and the geometry; the exact profile is determined by the structural calculation for each site.
How much does the structural design of a carport cost?
It depends on the location, the number of parking spaces, the type of ground and whether you need the engineers' association endorsement (visado). Tell us about your project in the form and we will send you a free, no-obligation quote.
Do I need a geotechnical report?
If you have one, attach it to the form and we will use it in the design. If not, the foundations are designed assuming sound natural ground and verified with an on-site pull-out test; if the ground shows anomalies (fill, high water table, expansive clays, rock…), a geotechnical report is required.
How long does it take to deliver the design?
The delivery time is stated in the quote, according to the project scope, and counts from when we receive the necessary data.
Do you work in English?
Yes. We can assist you in English by email and phone throughout the project. The technical documentation itself is issued in Spanish, as required by Spanish local authorities for permits.
Do you work all over Spain?
Yes, in every province of Spain, based in Valencia. As it is a document-based engineering service, the location is not a problem.
